David’s 5th book, The Fed and the Flu: Parsing Pandemic Economic Shocks, is available in hardback, paperback, and all ebook formats. Co-authored with Michael R. Englund, Tristan J. Erwin, and Elizabeth J. Sweet, the book examines the Fed’s journey toward understanding and mitigating pandemic economic shocks, offers insights regarding pandemics’ economic impacts through history along with lessons from the world’s experience with Covid, and captures the Covid pandemic’s economic impacts in charts. Every pandemic is an initial shock and then a longer shadow cast over the medium term into the future. Most importantly, in the authors’ view, every pandemic is a learning opportunity that can be seized to better inform responses to future pandemics.

The Fed and the Flu: Parsing Pandemic Economic Shocks is available at Amazon and at Barnes & Noble. Link to order or read a sample: https://www.thefedandtheflu.com/order
